Bluebell International School operates on a 21^st Century educational structure that is appropriate in educating children. The use of modern technology, techniques/approaches, the right materials and other necessary resources. Teaching as we know is no longer what it used to be. We move with the times. Emphasis is placed in their ways of thinking, problem solving abilities, their talents and skills, team spirit etc. Our children are all rounded.

Parents are stakeholders in our educational pursuit. They are co-partners in the educational endeavours we take on . The task of educating children is a lofty one. With help and understanding from parents, we are better able to meet our collective goals.

The necessary resources needed to achieve our goals are in place. Internet enabled classrooms; well ventilated and air conditioned classes; experienced, qualified and passionate staff; an organized Administration and a secured environment. Also, we have well equipped laboratories.

We instill great values in our learners. Values like Integrity, Wisdom and Courage which are our core values. As we educate their minds, so do we educate their hearts.

Again, we find the need to expose our children by giving them the opportunity to access other educational programs and activities with external organizations if need be. We take on field trips and educational tours. Their academic interest is paramount. With Bluebell International school, academic success is guaranteed.

I love to play and my toy makes a perfect play mate. A toy is an object designed in the form of humans, animals, cars, and robots etc for children to play with. My toy is called Mighty Mouse dressed in a flexible body tied, stretchy and Superman-like outfit. It’s yellow in color with a red cape, pants, shoes as well as a pair of white gloves and a waist belt. My toy is fit and muscular, with big chest and wide shoulders. I adore my toy because it looks like a Superhero. Being a superhero is something I had always admired. On the 23^rd of January 2016, I made a discovery that changed my life forever. The sun was overhead that Saturday afternoon. It was time for siesta as my parents and siblings had all retired to their room. I got to my colorful room which had been neatly cleared earlier in the morning with mum’s supervision. My bed felt more comfortable as the new sheets smelt fresh and clean. Immediately after I laid down, I slept off. Who wouldn’t?

An hour went by as I lay in bed half conscious and dizzy. I felt like someone whispered my name “Diana, Diana are u up? Please wake up”. I was still for a second. Then, I listened quietly, “Diana, Diana can you hear me? Please, wake up”. Using the sides of my eyes I gazed at the sofa next to my bed. Mighty Mouse was on the sofa asking me to wake up with a huge smile on his face. So many emotions ran through my body at the same time. I felt like screaming at the top of my voice, I felt like I was about to pass out and it also felt like I was about to “pee pee “. I said to myself “What a dream”? However, I soon realized it was actually happening. I got up from bed shocked to the core. “How is this possible”? I asked loudly. Mighty responded, “It’s a world full of possibilities”? Was I to tell anyone or make it my little secret? In shock, I ran out of my room to tell the rest of my family what was going on. Everyone rushed in just to find a still Might Mouse motionless. I was embarrassed as dad said, “You play a lot with this toy so much that you can’t tell the difference between play times in your dreams and in reality”. He smiled, gave me a kiss on the forehead and left. The others looked at me strangely and followed him. I was confused and words seemed to have gone missing in my mouth. Mighty jumped to his feet and walked around the room.”Can we go on an adventure sometime” he asked? Startled I answered with a shaking voice, “I would love to. Perhaps, next week Saturday since I go to school on week days”. While I was at school, Mighty stayed home and planned adventures we could take on. Once I got back from school, he would tell me all about it.

We went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some items useful for our adventures. I had managed to save some few coins in my little piggy bank. We went to Fancy World supermarket. Mighty was motionless as he always does in the presence of others. He laid still on a shelf while I searched for what we needed. My play mate noticed a shoplifter stealing and stocking things in a jacket. My superhero toy carefully got a rope with hooks on both ends from the shelf and made his way to where the thief was, unnoticed. He attached one end of the hook on the bottom hem of the thief’s trousers and the other end; he attached to a nearby shelf. I felt someone gently touched me on my arm. I turned. “There is a thief in here”, He said. “Please, be quiet before someone sees you and you go motionless while I end up making a fool of myself” I said. He said it again, this time pointing to the thief. Before he could finish saying, “don’t worry I hooked a rope on him…” I screamed at the top of my voice, “Thief, thief, thief…” In an attempt to run, he was pulled back and he landed on the flood. The stolen items scattered all around him. He was caught and the police later reported at the scene. People came around me hailing, applauding and raining praises on me for my heroic act. I couldn’t take all the glory alone. So, I told them it was all possible thanks to the help of my toy. They all gave me funny and strange looks. Then, I quickly realized they wouldn’t understand. I smiled at them and said, “You wouldn’t understand”.

On the 5^th of February 2016, a huge crowd was present at the Council City Hall for the Annual Award Ceremony of the “Good Citizenship Gold Medal Award”. It is an initiative organized by the Government to encourage the acts of Courage, Bravery, Goodwill and Good Citizenship. My family was there with heads held high in the air. I held Mighty in my arms as I mounted the stage to receive my medal. The Governor planted a gold medal on my left breast side. For the first time in my entire life people applauded me so loud while on their feet. Mr. Governor gave me a smile and three side peeks on my chicks. I went backstage, hugged my play mate warmly and thanked him. He responded, “The pleasure is mine my superhero partner”.

Life took another turn as people look upon me with admiration. Some ask to take pictures with me once they recognized me. I had become a superhero and I felt so amazing. People looked upon me as a role model or a National hero. My life was never the same again thanks to Mighty Mouse. As for Might’s ability to talk and walk, nobody ever believes and found out the truth. It was something that remained between the two of us. That was how Mighty Mouse changed my life forever.
